Děj se začíná odehrávat v roce 1989, kdesi v lesích, kde se stane tragická nehoda, kterou přežije jen malý kluk… poté se dostáváme do přítomnosti.
Kai Koss se vrací na místo, kde vyrůstal se svojí krutou a bezcitnou matkou, od které před devatenácti lety utekl. Dnes už je mrtvá a Kai po ní zdědil majetek a dům, který s ní jako malý sdílel. Rozhodne se, že dům neprodá, ale spálí ho. Vydá se tedy na cestu… Když dorazí k domu, začínají se mu vyjevovat děsivé vzpomínky.
Když chce dům podpálit, setkává se s policistkou Sárou, která mu plán překazí. Odjede se tedy ubytovat do blízkého hotelu, kde je po počátečních neshodách ubytován. V noci ho vzbudí telefon, ve ktererém slyší hrát hudbu. A zde se poprvé setkáváme s tajemným Peterem, o kterém vůbec netušíme kdo to je- jméno je jen napsané na kusu papíru.
Kai se vydá do domu, protože pozná, že hudba vychází z jeho digihry, kterou měl jako malý kluk. V domě najde vyvěšený telefon. Po chvíli slyší zvuky a zjistí, že v domě je mladý pár, který je druhého dne nezvěstný.
Tento horor musím bohužel zařadit do kategorie nejnepovedenějších filmů, s jakými jsem se setkala. Děj je po celou dobu zamotaný a zmatený a ani na konci se pořádně nedovíme co se stalo. Navíc se nás režisér snaží vyděsit víc, než je potřeba. Průměrně každých 5 minut filmu na nás někde někdo vybafne, něco spadne či nás má vyděsit odraz v zrcadle.
U některých postav není ani jasné, jak do děje zapadají a proč tam vůbec jsou… Celý film se částečně motá kolem červeného míčku, který se nakonec z děje úplně vytratí a záhadného Petera, který se nám v závěru zjeví jako muž s červenou bundou a v posledních vteřinách filmu zkočí ze skály. Pokud jste tedy milovníci hororů, tento snímek můžete vynechat, aniž byste toho litovali
